Even though I commented on Mr Cleese's personal
findings on peoples perceptions of TV Seasons V's Episodes V's TV moments with my Season
6, Disc 1 review of Friends, everyone still has their most favourite of episodes when it
comes to TV sitcoms. Disc 2 of Season 6 FRIENDS contains mine. "The One
that could have been".
This two parter is quite a standout episode as it takes our
FRIENDS along totally different time lines where they are each totally different people to
what we are use to seeing from the past 5 seasons. What makes these 2 episodes so
great is that they continually make references in one way or another to we know about the
"real" friends, etc, and it's also great to see these characters operate under
different circumstances with different motives.
Season 6, Disc 2 of this continually funny series contains
the following episodes
- The One Where Ross Got High
- The One With The Routine
- The One with the Apothecary Table
- The One with the Joke
- The With Rachel's Sister
- The One Where Chandler Can't Cry
- The One that Could Have Been (2 parter)
Season 6 was first released in 1999. |
So how does this transfer hold up?
.... |
VIDEO
Again, THe 1.33:1 transfer really shows no difference from the average quality of Season
6, Discs 1
The haziness is still there and so there is quite a severe
lack of any refined detail to the image. Colour Saturation is still quite nice.
Episodes 1 to 4 are on the first side of the disc with
Episodes 5 to 8 on the flip side. |
... |
AUDIO
May as well repeat what i said last time around.
The Audio comes in a Dolby 2.0 mix which
is centre channel focused for all onscreen action.
Audience laugher can be heard from the sides so the overall spread appears nice and wide,
but that's about it.
Dialalgoue is highly intellegable, which one expects for a
sitcom. |

EXTRAS
The Only Extra also included on this DVD is the PC Friendly
Web Interface with some Web Links.
Season 6 Disc 2 contains some of the funniest season 6 episodes (including my favourite :)
Fans will no doubt want these 8 episodes also, even with the lacklustre treatment given to
the video transfer. |
