Columbia Tri-star Home Video/Universal
Release Schedule

ABOUT THE DVDS: So far, Columbia DVDs for region 4 utilise an Amaray style case, made by Brackley that differs mainly in two ways from those used in the USA.  The case is made from a tougher plastic with a much stronger centre ring, and is Totally Clear.  Having a clear case has allowed the inside of the DVD slick to also include information about the DVD (chapter listings and some movie trivia), rather than having to include an additional slip of paper with this information.

The newer slicks include a layout which details a DVDs features in the lower section of the back in a box table.  This indicates the sound format/s, languages, subtitles and other relevant information.

The screen format is indicated by a box above this information which not only indicates the ratio of the movie, but also whether it is Anamorphic Widescreen (Anamorphic Widescreen Widescreen).

Initially, CTS DVDs came with Both MPEG and Dolby Digital Audio Tracks.  Ever since their September 1998 releases,  CTS DVDs have only carried Dolby Digital Audio Tracks.

CTS DVDs are  released in the Anamorphic Widescreen Enhanced format, and P&S versions will only be included on some of the bigger budget titles

As an added bonus, ALL CTS DVD's released since late November 1998 (starting with My Best Friends Wedding) have carried two excellent sound trailers, the first is the Sony Centre Digital Video Trailer and the other is the Dolby Digital City Trailer, these are ONLY accessable if you select Play Movie from the Main Menu.

In January 2000 CTHV introduced a new DVD pricing stucture.  ALL DVDS released DATE and DAY with the VHS rental carried a RRP of $39.95, as did the new DELUXE Collector's Editions.

With the Introduction of GST in July 2000, Columbia DVDs have seen a price drop and are now retailing for around $36.95 for single Disc DVDs
