This Review was Submitted by Matt Allard..thanks once again...

Gorgeous Jennifer Love Hewitt (Party of Five) and Sarah Michelle (Buffy) Gellar (Scream 2) star in this action packed, terrifying thriller-horror.  Four teens are twisting their way down a winding road in a small town when they hit a man and kill him. They panic as they've been drinking, and decide to get rid of the body-what they don't know-is that he's not dead!!  A year to the day from the accident the dead man returns from a watery grave and he's pissed!! He want's revenge- in the most terrifying and compelling way.

I Know What you Did Last Summer is a clever, hip pure fright machine that leaves you gasping for air by the end. It redefines the classic horror/terror movies. Compared to a movie such as Friday the 13th it's a sophisticated, intelligent thriller with laughs, fun and heart pounding suspense. The acting from this young cast is first class along with a great story line.

I wasn't expecting this film to be this good, but now I know why it made more than $70 million dollars at the box office. The movement from scene to scene is punchy and fast, the suspense is built up to boiling point leaving you screaming for the hero's to watch out (isn't funny how they can never hear you). I thoroughly enjoyed this film, a real surprise packet- I can't wait for the sequel!!! If you want a thriller that makes your heart race and your sweat bead-this is a movie for you.

SO HOW DOES THIS TRANSFER HOLD UP?

With a lot of low light scenes the film transfer to DVD is superb. I would hate to see this movie on VHS- it just couldn't handle the contrast levels. Finally with DVD we have a format that is getting really close to film. Has anyone ever seen the CROW on VHS- with all the low light night scenes- it is appalling-on DVD ANOTHER STORY!!!

Anyway getting back on track, this movie is beautifully shot and edited.  The opening shot on this movie is one of the best chopper tracking shots your likely to see apart from TWISTER. The soundtrack is punchy and pushes the movie along at a frantic pace. The suspense scenes have a brilliant amount of sound (just listen to you rear effect speakers start to work!!) and it really makes you feel as if your right there in the scene-running for you life (keep your joggers on and your car keys handy, if there's a noise outside get ready to make a break for it).

The extra features are good, the directors commentary over the entire film is first class- it really makes you take for granted just how hard movies are to make.

Columbia Tri-Star are really bringing out some fantastic DVD transfers, head and shoulders above WARNER. This is a brilliant movie that any serious DVD collector should add to their collection. If you've seen SCREAM and liked it, you'll love I Know What You Did Last Summer!!!!

TO SUM IT UP: A PURE FRIGHT MACHINE,UNMITIGATED TERROR!!!!! A MUST HAVE.

PICTURE QUALITY   (5/5  First class!! I'm very picky- I work for a TV Station)
SOUND QUALITY   (5/5 excellent blend of effects and dialogue)
FEATURES   (4.5/5 very good directors commentary)
