While not my favourite Arnie flicks, okay it was a bomber at the box office, Columbia Tri-Star have decided to release the DVD into the lucky land of Region 4. It is the story of Danny Madigan who knows all the first 3 Jack Slater (Arnold Scwarzenegger) movies in and out. The 4th one is just about to be released too, and with a magical ticket Danny really gets to know that movie in and out too, literaly speaking. Whilst watching the movie in his favourite cinema during one of the action climaxes Danny is magically transported right into the movie, into a world following other rules than the real one. Benedict, one of the evil guys, gets hold of the ticket and escapes out to the real world, a world where evil guys can actually win. Danny and Jack follow him back to the real world to get back the ticket and stop Benedict from killing the actor playing Jack.

So How Does This Transfer Hold Up??
Overall the video transfer is excellent. Columbia really know how to put together a DVD and do a transfer well. I would rate CTS transfers on the whole to be way above the other studios and this DVD is no exception. No artifacting, shimmering or aliasing was evident. Fleshtones were natural and colours well rendered. The film is anamorphically enhanced and is free of film grain, extremely clear and detailed. It is presented in the aspect ratio of 2.35:1 and is RSDL.

Okay, let's talk audio. The main DVD audio track is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1. This is excellent, extremely dynamic, very aggressive rear channels and bass galore. When Arnie fires his hand cannon during the early film car chase bass comes from about every speaker in the room at a thundering rate, it's very good demo material believe me. Dialogue is also easy to understand.

Extras, extras a plenty here!. Again CTS comes thru with style. Included on the disc are none other than Filmographies, a Behind The Scenes Featurette,  Music Video & movie Disc. The DVD also has a great picture on the front of the actual disc. An audio commentary would of given the extras full marks. Never mind ....

Overall, not an overly bad film even though it bombed big time at the box office, but by now i'd say most of you have seen it anyway. If you like it then you'll love the DVD. Recommended for 'Arnie' fans.
