Mumma's Boy
Hack
(The following trick play method will only
work if your player's MIC2 EPROM has the "old microcontroller code, the new one/s have
a problem with player Region 1 DVDs that have macrovision, how do you tell....ummmm the
method below)
1. Play any Region 0 NTSC DVD with Multiple
Soundtracks
2. Scroll thru the soundtracks to make certain they are present on selected title.
3. Eject it then insert desired NTSC region 1 title.
4. As soon as "READING" appears on your TV keep pressing the PLAY Button on
the remote control until counter on the DVD front display stops reading Disc.
5. The disc will then start playing in about 5 seconds.
(On selected titles you may not be able to change the audio track (if present)
until the actual movie begins, most BVista and Universal Titles don't let you scroll thru
the audio tracks via the remote, if you stop the disc, when you hit PLAY it'll start from
the beginning of the disc)
PLEASE NOTE: this method results in VERY LIMITED Functionality of region 1 Titles and WILL
NOT play the second layer of a 2 layered disc..but hey it plays most of them, a bummer if
you want T2.
ALSO you may use a PAL DVD in place of a region 0 titles BUT you must then goto the
OSD and Turn ON Quasi-PAL then turn the sucker back OFF (assuming you want the true NTSC
signal for playback)..otherwise the disc is played as a PAL title and the image stutters..
Samsung DVD907
1. Press "DVD"
button of "TV/DVD SELECT" on the remote control
2. Load the DVD disc with different regional code
3. Remove the disc and close the tray (press"OPEN/CLOSE" button)
4. Press "TIME SEARCH", number "1", number "1", and
number "9" button in order.
5. Reload the DVD disc with different regional code and play to check the Player is
now multi code
