Shane Falco’s words of wisdom
motivate a team of misfits to strive for glory in The Replacements – a
high energy comedy about the substitute players called from the boondocks of football
history to fill the boots of the striking, premiere grid-iron team, The Washington
Sentinels.
Inspired by the 1987 NFL strike, this
comedy tells the story of an over-the-hill coach and a washed-up former quarter back who
lead a team of strike-breaking "replacement killers" to a short but glorious
season of victories in professional football.
The team’s inspiration comes not
just from their aging but intuitive coach but from the bump and grind of the replacement
cheer leader squad whose night jobs as strippers and lap dancers ensure the fans - and the
opposing team - get an eyeful on and off the field!
The all star line up includes box
office gold Keanu Reeves (The Matrix, The Devil’s Advocate) as the
washed out, All-American quarterback Shane Falco. (And we can expect hot and heavy Keanu
fever with the theatrical release of his new film Sweet November in April and his
imminent return to Australia to film Matrix 2.)
The rough-and-fumble team assembled
by veteran coach Gene Hackman (Enemy of the State, Extreme Measures) band
together to achieve hard-hitting glory – with a lot of laughs along the way.
A motor mouth receiver (Orlando
Jones, Bedazzled, Magnolia), a merciless and crazed line backer (Jon Favreau,
Very Bad Things, Swingers, Deep Impact)) and a nicotine wired kicker (Rhys Ifans,
Notting Hill, Little Nicky) drive this movie home as one of the most hilarious
football movies in the league.
As head cheerleader, pin up girl Brooke
Langton (Melrose Place) keeps the faith and morale sky high with the sexiest
cheer squad in the history of the game.
The pace is pumped along with one of
the hottest retro soundtracks including, Bust A Move, Good Vibrations and I Will Survive.

Dozen – full of body slams and belly laughs"*, The
Replacements is a fast paced comedy that delivers plenty of laughs, hard hitting
