Hanks delivers a towering screen performance
as Chuck Nolan, a FedEx systems engineer, whose ruled-by-the clock existence abruptly ends
when a harrowing plane crash leaves him isolated on a remote island. Stripped of the
conveniences of everyday life, he first must meet the basic needs of survival. Chuck, the
consummate problem-solver, eventually figures out how to sustain himself physically and
begins his true journey as he faces the emotional ordeal of isolation.
